In his view, when making music everything is an instrument and if he doest have it he will make it, he has recoded paper as a shaker, uses kids toys as percussion, turned an acoustic fender into a cuban tres, and one of his favourite guitars is a telecaster style that he build himself, you can listen to all those sounds in his music.
Santiago is a extraordinaire Musician, Song writer and Producer, born and raised in Colombia who moved to Canada 8 years ago to pursue his music further, while in Colombia in the year 1997 he studied music at the UNAB University at the same time that he was developing his career as a Producer, Composer, Teacher and Live Performer.
In the late 90's along with the artist "Marita" he signed a contract with Universal Music Colombia as coproducer and composer for "Marita's" record. He also was part of different projects for artist; in 1999 he released his first album "Open 24 Hours" with great critics from the local and national radio of Colombia, his funky beats are always something that people wanted to listen to.
In the year 2006 with his guitar on his back, he decides to move to Europe to pursue his solo career, there, he found himself playing with amazing talents from the street school and putting together a band that now is known as "Latinoamérica Brava". With this band they toured the Golden coast of Spain, during the summer of 2007 and 2008, although the experience was amazing, the opportunities for success were not clear; after a visit from his mother to Barcelona were he was living at the moment, she persuaded him to come and visit Canada, it only took him 2 minutes to fall in love with this beautiful country! For that reason he decides to move to Canada. After one year of wondering around looking for musicians and bands to play with, he finally got to know the community of latin musicians, where he started a band called "The Latin Train" which later he had to leave for recordings in Colombia and Spain.
Now, back in Canada, he has returned to his passion for composing and exploring new sounds, building his own instruments if needed. The only thing that matters to him, is to use all his abilities for a great result!
